DeleteYour story is very inspiring! I am turning 50 this year, and at 5'7", i weigh 209 lbs. Will definitely leave another post here by december this year how many lbs I have lost. I should really watch what I eat and exercise regularly!

ReplyDeleteI just noticed your picture from Spring Break 2012 in Puerto Rico, and I'm actually planning a trip to PR in November. I would love to lose 100lbs between now and then. You have inspired me!! I am going to do my best to make it happen! Thank you so much for your blog!
ReplyDeleteNo problem!!! anything else I can do to help please let me know!!! with a little hard work and dedication.....the 100lbs will come right off!!!
DeleteI honestly believe this can be done. I just started this yesterday, and I must've drank about a gallon of water and stuck w a diet of low carbs and no more than about 1500 calories. Granted, the first few pounds you lose are usually just water weight, but I got on the scale this morning and just like that I had lost 5lbs!!! I couldn't believe it. I drank nothing but water yesterday, and I think that did the trick. I'm definitely going to stick to this! Thank you for your inspiration! :)
Deletewow great story so now when are you gonna come be my "Jillian Michaels" and kick my butt and motivate me? LOL JK But I think I would do better with a partner. If I had someone who was on the same journey as me we could exercise together and be accountable to each other for our backslides...that is just me though. I am so glad you are healthier and feel better. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing your story and success. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteWay to Go!! My husband has lost like 80lbs since last Fall. He was 250 and now is around 180. He eats light at light at breakfast and lunch, with a normal dinner. Usually followed by a healthy cereal before bed. He also works out morning and night with free weights, and crunches on the Ball and some cycling. The stationary bike will get some use too this winter.
ReplyDeleteI have found that I seem to have a bit of a weakness with sweets and need to cut this out. I do not drink much pop at all, may 2 or 3 a week. Mainly unsweeten tea or water. Little or no exercise for me. I have stopped drinking for personal reasons which have eliminated tons of calories. I am 50 and 172, would like to loose another 10 or 15. I need to get motivated again to walk, as I too, would like to start jogging.
So what do I do for my SWEET TOOTH??? Besides fruit... I do like Snackwell yummys.....

ReplyDeleteI am a 18 year old female college student, I am 6 feet tall and weigh in at about 200 pounds. Instead of gaining the freshman 15, I hope to loose about 40 pounds. I walk all over campus, and I have changed my diet dramatically. I don't eat sweets(unless it is Friday night), I have fruit at every meal, and only drink water and skim milk. It probably will be tough to stick to since a dining hall is attached to my dormitory so food is always at my access, but your story has inspired me to keep doing what I'm doing. Congratulations on the amazing weight loss, and keep inspiring people to do the same.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sure in your story. Your success gives me hope. How are you doing now?
ReplyDeleteNow im good....have lost a totol of 145 pounds in the year and working hard to reach my next goal. compete in mens physique... you can follow more of my journey on my facebook www.facebook.com/edwinvelezsuccess
DeleteI'm a woman in my early 30s who weighed in this morning at 288. I've been carrying this weight since my early 20s and haven't dated since I started putting on the weight. When I try to exercise, it's exhausting and painful. Was it painful for you (joints, back) when you started? About how many calories does/did your plan include on an average day and what was your macro breakdown in terms of percentage? I haven't seen my family since I gained weight and really want to go home for Christmas this year... I'm 5'5" and remember feeling my most comfortable around 110-115. So is it possible to lose 175 pounds in ten months?
ReplyDeleteHow much cardio do you do a day? do you have a suggestion for a good cardio plan. I am 5feet 7inches in weigh 297lbs
ReplyDeleteI do anywhere from 30-45 minutes of cardio a day. Mix it up. Eliptical one day, bike another, treadmill another and so forth.
DeleteI need to lose about 100 lbs. I've recently changed the way I eat and have started walking 4-6 xs a week but would like to speed up my weight loss (as I have a wedding to attend in June). I did see your typical meal plan, but was wondering what is the approximate caloric intake per day? Also, you said you stuck to a cardio plan, but did you do any strength training &/or weight lifting?
ReplyDeleteI am like you were Edwin, overweight and wondering how in the hell I allow myself to get this way. I am a woman who is nearly 300 pounds and although I see your story and people stories similar to that whether it be on "The Biggest Loser" or other shows, I feel hopeless. I want to lose 150 pounds but I don't know where to start, plus people around me (family and friends) eat horribly. So how can I maintain and stay encouraged with all of my obstacles. Please help me!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting my path today, and thanks for the inspiration. I'm about 285 and 6'1". I've been drinking about 2 liters of mountain dew every day for as long as I can remember. Thank you for telling your story!
ReplyDeleteGood job Edwin! How many calories did you eat?
ReplyDelete1200 carlories a day and I made sure i burned atleast that many in the gym a day as well!
DeleteI am over 350 pounds and have hypothyroidism. I hate myself and I have lost some weight before, but it comes right back. I am discouraged, but your blog gives me hope. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI am truly INSPIRED!!!! I have been thin before my last child. but my excuses are over she is about to be eight yrs. old and I am about to become a grandma!!! I am 37 years old and I weight 260 lbs. I hope to accomplish your results!!! I am curious when you started to add weight lifting , or did you just do cardio??
ReplyDeleteI am 37years old and 260 lbs. I have not always been overweight until my last child she will be turning 8 years old soon, so I am running out of excuses. I hope to achieve your results!!! I am truly INSPIRED by you!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your story, that is very brave of you!!! I need to now did you do cardio only during your first 4 months or did you include weights?
